The most popular RV season is coming in a few months! Bugs are starting to appear, which means frustrations will start to appear, too. We know that bugs are irritating when you’re all around the campfire or in your new RV spending time together, and we’re here to help! Here are 3 RV tips to help keep those annoying critters away.
1. Peppermint Oil
This is a newer idea that has proven extremely helpful! For all of you who love essential oils, then this will be easy. For those of you who are unsure of what those are, take a look at your local grocery store for some peppermint oil. Because siders hate the smell of peppermint, if you soak a few cotton balls in peppermint oil and place them around your RV, you’ll not only have a sweet-smelling camper, you’ll have a spider-FREE environment!
2. Bags with Water and Pennies
Fill Ziploc bags about halfway with water and then add a few pennies and zip it up. Place them on picnic tables or hang them from the inside of your camper. The reflection from the water and the pennies keeps flies from wanting to land near you. Make sure to strategically place them near any food you’re leaving out while you eat, as well. It may give your place a new look, but it’s totally worth it! No more flies, no more problems.
3. Thermacell Patio Shield
The Thermacell patio shield is awesome. This particular outdoor gadget will allow you to place a 15 foot perimeter around your RV campsite to keep the mosquitoes from coming anywhere close to you. Set this out on your picnic table or close to the campfire, and bingo! Enjoy the freedom to relax without hearing that annoying buzz close to your ear every few minutes.
