Spring is just around the corner, which means it’s time to start planning your next camping adventure. Check out these RV service tips for maintenance and checks you should do on your RV before setting off for the campground in 2022. If you’re not ready to tackle these RV maintenance procedures, call to schedule your appointment with our service department.
RV Water System
One of the first things you’ll need to do before setting off for the campground is to clear the water system of antifreeze from your winterization. You can do this by hooking up the water system to a hose and opening all the faucets to allow the water to flush the antifreeze. Run until the water comes out clear.
Tires
Any time you get ready to leave for the campground, you’ll want to check the tires. Test the tire pressure on all of your RV’s tires whether you have a towable RV or a motorhome. This will ensure your safety on the road and help to improve your fuel economy. Additionally, you’ll need to check the tread on all your tires and change any that are starting to look bare.
Seams & Sealants
Lastly, you’ll need to check all the seals on your RV, including seams on your roof, and note any troublesome spots. If you see any areas where water is pooling, the sealant seems to be worn down, or seams are coming apart, you’ll need to repair these as soon as possible to prevent further damage. You can do this yourself by reapplying RV roof sealant or silicone to the seams orĀ schedule your RV maintenanceĀ with our service department.
